Spring Protection

Why protecting natural springs matters

20 October 2026

Natural springs are more than a source of water. They are part of living ecosystems that depend on healthy soils, vegetation and responsible land use.

Protection starts upstream

Activities around a spring’s recharge area can affect the water source over time. Caring for surrounding land and maintaining vegetation are important parts of long-term stewardship.

Watercana’s approach

Our ambition is to connect the sale of spring water with meaningful conservation work, including indigenous reforestation, awareness and protection of spring surroundings.

Editor’s note: This introductory article describes our mission. Future updates will document specific conservation activities and results.
